Earthquakes are scary as hell. Anyone that tells you different is a liar. The only ones that aren’t scary as hell are the small ones. Even though they are somewhat rollercoaster like at that stage, the reason they still aren’t fun is the incredible tension that quickly goes through a person that’s been through a much bigger one. I guess that could be called PTSD. As a matter of fact, it’s probably best to just call it that, because it’s freakin’ true!
Of all the earthquakes that happen around the world every year, the ones that are the scariest are the ones you can feel. Outside of that, the next scariest are the ones you can see. These are the ones that you can feel the panic and fear from those in it. You hear their voices slow down and shake. You see their eyes grow big. You can tell they know there’s nothing to do but ride it out and hope nothing falls on you. On top of that, we’re always watching a person whose job is to be on TV when those moments happen. They can’t run off or run away. They’re supposed to tell us what’s going on. The best they can do is maybe hide under the desk until things slow down. It doesn’t sound amazing. At least not in the fun way. Not amazing in the fun way at all.
Since you and I are the lucky ones in this situation, lets revisit the Top 5 Earthquake Interruptions of Television and see what ones leave us in the most panicked state.
