There’s nothing like living in Los Angeles, the sun in your face, wind in your hair, and helicopters overhead.
Obviously we’re famous for it, otherwise the term ghetto bird wouldn’t be so well known. To make a quick point, you must be in the ghetto to call it the ghetto bird. A police helicopter in general is not a ghetto bird. Only once it’s over the ghetto. Now you know!
Long story short, we have at least one police chopper in the sky at all times, and it’s always in use. This night it was in my neighborhood looking for a suspect in someone’s backyard. The light they use to illuminate the area is called the “night sun” and yes, it’s really bright. Super bright. One could say it’s like a sun at night.
I got there with my camera and recored some of the sweet chopper action before it flew off to a new crime. So if you have always wanted to know what it’s like to live in a neighborhood in LA, here’s your chance to get a glimpse:
I don’t know what the outcome was. It seemed pretty calm, so I assume they got them right away and this was just for back-up. Although, they could have been running around back there and searching the dumpsters. Which is what I would rather believe was happening.
