Just like Wayne and Garth would have wanted, a truck burst into flames on the side of the road.
I was standing in a parking lot, smoking a smokable item, and staring off at the sky. Suddenly a man came a’running “FIRE! FIRE!” he yelled. He ran towards me “do you have a fire extinguisher?” he says, “yeah, inside” I says. The other guy standing outside with me opens the door, we grab the extinguisher from inside, and the man who came running up goes running back with the extinguisher in hand. Since there was nothing I could do I grabbed my phone and started filming.
The extinguisher guy made it back to the truck and unloaded the retardant. The fire went from huge to nothing in moments. It was pretty cool how fast it was put out. All thanks to the guy who just so happened to be working next to it when it lit up.
Afterwards the story was that the truck was parked on the side of the road next to a construction project (a worker owned the truck) when the cab suddenly lit on fire. Without an investigation (which there probably won’t be) we are left to guess. My guess is an electrical issue, perhaps a cigarette was put in the ashtray, but not put out all the way. However, I didn’t see any cigarettes, so it was most likely an electrical problem.
All in all, it was a pretty adventurous moment for the day.
