Driving can be really tough for a lot of people. One of the biggest issues I’ve noticed with people is that you have to pay attention to your surroundings.
It’s tough to pay attention. I get it. I don’t like paying attention either. I’m a bigger fan of kicking back and relaxing while doing my own thing. Not any of this… whatever.
Sadly, it’s not possible to do that when I’m driving. Once I’m behind the wheel of something that can kill myself or someone else in an instant I decide I should probably pay a little more attention to not just what I’m doing, but what’s going on around me.
Unfortunately, as I mentioned in my first sentence, most people don’t want to do that. They’d rather just push the pedal and go. Hoping they make it to their destination safely. Not really trying to get there safely, just hoping to.
Which brings me to this very incident captured on video here.
This is the intersection of La Brea, Stocker, and Overhill. Two of those streets have people going about 50 mph around a blind corner (or up a hill) into this intersection. This dummy here decided that he should turn across one of those blind 50 mph lanes. On top of that, he was literally in my lane. Blocking me from being able to continue forward once the light changed.
I can’t tell you what this person was thinking, but aside from him being a murder investigator on the chase I give him zero passes for this move. He should go back to driving school and get some lessons on how not to kill yourself or someone else.
