How To Drive in Los Angeles Vol. 17

With all the videos I make from my dash camera you would think I’m a person that would be 100% behind the artificial cars, but nope. Not at all. I’m actually someone that thinks cars should regress a little. Personally, I fucking love stick shift. It’s the absolute most fun way to drive a car. Anyone can press the go button on a car with an automatic transmission, but it takes a driver to use a manual transmission.

The reason I think cars should regress to having standard transmissions is that it makes people pay more attention. Everyone is off in their own world wondering about what kind of spicy tuna salad they’re going to have for dinner and not worried about what their car is doing. It’s dangerous. If you’re driving a stick shift you’re thinking about what’s going on, having to change gears and make sure you aren’t going to stall (or hurt your car by lugging it) leads you to pay more attention to everything around you, which is why I think it’s safer for all. Oh, and people will learn to stay off your ass at stop signs and lights because of the roll back.

As for why this means I don’t like the new cars with AI, it means you aren’t driving anymore. Driving is fun. It’s not just a form of transportation, it’s a form of fun. If you don’t think it’s fun than you need to either get off the road and onto public transportation or get yourself a sick ass manual transmission sports car so you can remember why driving is great.

Anyway, here’s the 17th installment:
