You know how sometimes you just want to push down on the horn and not let go? It’s normally right before the urger to get out of your car and fight someone.
Well if you’re anything like me, then you also have an irrational dislike of Uber drives. They’re just scab taxi drivers, there’s nothing wrong with it other than the company screwing over every single on of their “contract employees.” Seriously, if there are a bunch of lawsuits going on against someone you’re thinking of working for, then maybe you shouldn’t work for them. Having your “contract employees” sue you all the time is a really bad sign. Really bad. Possibly the worst sign for a prospective “employee.” Whatever, that’s my reasons for disliking them. Also, they screwed some people I know that drove for them out of money, so there’s that too.
What I was actually saying about the Uber hate, is that none of their drivers know how to pull over for a pick up. Not a single one. Same goes for Lyft. I’m always seeing people just stop their cars in the street and throw on the blinkers. It’s ridiculous. They don’t look for a good place to pull over, or even a safe place, they just pull over and put it in park.
Which is why this day was actually pretty satisfying.
The driver parked here is an Uber driver with their flashers on waiting for a passenger. They did a half-assed job pulling over and had half their car sitting in the road, blocking traffic on the two lane arterial. To make things even cooler there was a post office truck blocking my lane, so we were all kind of just stuck.
It was fine for me for that moment because I had to pick a buddy up. The all around traffic jam helped us with that.
